Many years ago a beach shadowbox came into our home as a gift. Our family spent many happy hours searching the sand for its shells and sea life over the years.
Our plastic bags of sand and shells brought back from beach trips however, often ended up lost in the garage or to the trash due to gritty leaks and crushed contents. But there sat our box on the bookshelf, brought down year after year, for someone to find that lucky penny or crabclaw one more time.
On a recent trip to the beach I started thinking about all the joy that beach shadowbox had brought us, and decided it was time more of us shared in the joy of bringing in the beach - to our homes, our families, to anyone who loves the wonders of the seashore.
Our large beachbox can sit upright as a tabletop focal piece or can be used as a tray.
The small beachbox is a portable seashore sized for young hands. Both are ideal for a rainy day at the beach, the drive home, or just spending some time exploring nature again.
Our boxes are hand cut, assembled, filled, and then buffed with wax for a smooth yet natural finish. We use double strength glass for added safety. No sea life is ever harmed or killed -we use only abandoned shells and already available dried sea life.
